171. Olive Marian "Ollie" HADEN¹⁵³ was born in January 1855 in Missouri.^{108,120,154,155} She died on 10 August 1924 at the age of 69 in Fannin County, Texas.¹⁵⁶

In the 1900 Census, Ollie stated she had 7 children, 6 living.

Letter from J. B. Haden to his brother Jimmie dated 22 June 1924, speaks of a visit from Ollie and Thurman, Grace and her daughter Mary Louise, Mary and her boy.

Olive Marian "Ollie" HADEN and Benjamin Franklin BLAKENEY were married on 15 December 1880 in Fannin County, Texas.^135,143 Benjamin Franklin BLAKENEY^{105,155,156,157,158,159,160,161,162} was born on 21 April 1859 in Alabama.^{151,155,157,163} He died on 16 June 1947 at the age of 88 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas.¹⁵⁶

Hiram age 60, born in SC also lives with the family. James age 14, a Black boy, born in AL is also in the household. All are listed with the Blakeney surname.

FindAGrave lists Frank Blakeney as his father; says he died 1899 and is buried Kershaw City Cemetery, Kershae, Lancaster Co, SC. Seems more likely that he died in Alabama.

B. F.'s death certificate solved the problem of his parents. It did state his father was Frank and that B. F. was born in Charleston, SC. [it does seem likelier that his father was born in South Carolina, but Benjamin F. in Alabama.]

1880 Census. Fannin Co, TX. B. F. Blakeney, age 21 lived in the household of P. M. Green, wife Annie, and two sons. Blakeney was a brother-in-law. He was born in AL; his father born in SC and his mother born in AL

1900 Census. Listed in Bonham with all the children. He was born in AL, parents born in SC.

1910 Census. Lived at 306 10th Street, Bonham. Stated they had 7 children, 6 living. Mary, Myrtle, George listed in the Census. M. J. Haden, Olive's mother was also living with them.

Found in 1920 Census in Bonham. Myrtle and George still living at home, Daughter Grace Rountree and her child Mary Louise, age 8, also live with them. Grace is marked as "married" not widowed or divorced. There were probably other children.

1930 Census. Ben F. Blakeney, age 70, widowed, b. AL, father b. in SC, mother b. AL. Payne Roundtree, son-in-law, age 47, b. TX; his father b. GA, mother b. TX. Salesman in Retail Shoes. Grace Roundtree, daughter, age 44, 23 when married. Mary L. age 19, still at home.

On 21 April 1934, Joe B. Haden noted in his diary that it was "Mr. B. F. Blakeney's birthday".

"Fannin County Folks and Facts" says his ancestors came from Limerick County Ireland and was first de Blakeney. They settled in South Carolina, moving to Alabama and Missouri. Four of their seven children were born on W. 10th Street in Bonham. Ben was co-owner of a dry good store - White, Blakeney, and Fuller.

1900 Census shows a George Blakeney living in Ladonia, b. 1846, with 5 children still at home, Frank born 1872 with wife and young daughter. They were also in the dry goods business. George says he was born in SC as were his parents. Frank born in TX although he states his father born in NC.

Benjamin died in the Hospital in Bonham; he had lived there in Bonham for 63 years. The current address was 314 W. 10th St. He died of congestive Heart Failure and senility; son Joe B. Blakeney was informant for the death certificate [he lived in San Angelo, TX at that time]. Father listed as Frank; mother's name not given.

Joe Ben BLAKENEY^164,165 was born on 24 November 1883 in Fannin County, Texas.^155,164 He died on 11 December 1971 at the age of 88 in San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas.¹⁶⁴ Joe was not listed with his parents by 1910. An Ancestry Family Tree with no documentation states his wife was Maybelle Tillman and they married circa 1908. I found the following in the 1910 Census, which may be Joe: 1910. San Angelo, Tom Green Co, TX, Sheet 12B, Hh 266. Living on Colorado Ave. The name has been altered by the enumerator. It was originally Joe B. "Blachen" and has been indexed similarly - written above the crossed out "hen" is "keney" which adds up to "Blackeney". He does give his name as Joe B. and is the right age, 26. He gave his birthplace as Texas but "U. S." is given for his parents. He had been married 1 time for 3 years. Mabel is the wife, age 25, b. TX, father b. TX, her mother b. MO. She has had 1 child. Marion, daughter, age 1 1/2, b. in Texas. [named for Joe's mother?] 12 Sep 1918 World War I Draft Registration Joe Ben Blakeney was age 34, born 24 Nov 1883. He was farming for himself in Crockette Co TX. Mrs. Maybelle Blakeney, wife, was nearest relative. He was tall, slender, with brown eyes and hair. 1920 Census. TX [There is no indication this is a different wife - Maybelle was his wife in 1920 and again in 1940. 1940 Census. San Angelo, Tom Green Co, TX, Hh 102 Lived in the same house in 1935. Joe B. Blakeney was now 56, Wool merchant. Maybelle, 54. 27 Apr 1942 World War II Draft Registration Joe Ben Blakeney lived at 438 W. Twohig St, San Angelo, Tom Green Co, TX. He was born 24 Nov 1883, Fannin Co and was now age 58. The person who would always know his address was Mrs. J. B. Blakeney. He was self employed at 601 S. Oakes St., San Angelo. Described as 5'9" tall, 147#'s, brown hair, brown eyes. I found a death certificate. Joe Ben Blakeney, died 11 Dec 1971, San Angelo, Tom Green Co at the Clinic Hospital Foundation. He was born 24 Nov 1883. His residence was not given. His usual occupation was Rancher. His parents' names not given. The informant was Mrs. Joe Blakeney. He died of cerebral hemorrhage and had a history of heart conditions. He was buried on December 13th at Fairmount Cemetery, San Angelo. I also found a death certificate which gives clues to what became of Joe's daughter Marion. James Albert Kreuger, b. 20 Feb 1935, died 30 Oct 1967, age 32. He died in San Angelo - he had been there for 1 week. His residence was 5504 Winifred Drive, Fort Worth, Tarrant Co, TX. He was a Rancher and is listed as married. His father's name given as A. L. Kreuger; his mother as Marion Blakeney. His father was the informant for the death certificate. Young James is said to have died of a coronary occlusion. He was buried Fairmount Cemetery, San Angelo. James's birth certificate states that he was born at Rush Clinic in San Angleo. His father was Albert LeRoy Krueger, age 32, born Wellman, Iowa, a wool buyer. His mother was Marion Blakeney born in Sonora, TX. He was the first child born. to this couple. James married Nancy C. League, 24 Sep 1960, Los Angeles, CA. - he was 25; she was 20. 1940 Census. San Angelo, Tom Green, TX, Hh 74 1201 S. Park - lived in San Angelo in 1935 Albert L. Kreuger, age 37, b. Iowa, woolbuyer, wool warehouse Marion B., wife, 31 James A., son, 5 Then I found Marion's Texas Death Certificate #18446. She died at the Clinic Hospital in San Angleo. Mrs. Marion Blakeney Kreuger had lived at 1201 S. Park in San Angleo. She died of heart failure and chronic, severe, asthma, on 2 Apr 1945. She was 36, born 18 Mar 1909 in Sonora, TX. Her father was Joe Blakeney, her mother Maybelle Tillman - both born in Texas. Joe Blakeney was the informant and she was buried in San Angleo. Albert Leroy Krueger also died at the Clinic Hospital in San Angelo on 25 Feb 1976. He was living at 2460 Harvard Ct, Apt. B, and had lived in San Angelo for 48 years. He was born 18 Aug 1902 in Iowa and was age 73 when he died of cardiac arrest. He was the operator of a wool warehouse. His father was Paul F. Kreuger; his mother Nellie Griffith. Juanita Kreuger was the informant. He was buried Fairmount Cemetery, San Angelo. He also has an Iowa Birth Certificate at FamilySearch.org. He was born Lime Creek Township, Washington Co, Iowa. Albert & Marion arrived in New Orleans from, Havana Cuba, on 20 Jan 1940, sailing on the "Toloa", a Cruise ship. The ship had departed from New Orleans on Jan 13th. He was age 37, b. 18 Aug 1902, Wellman, Iowa. Marion was 30, b. 18 Mar 1909, Sonora, Texas. They gave their home address as San Angelo, Texas

Thurman Allen BLAKENEY^151,166,167 was born on 8 July 1888 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas.¹⁵⁵ He died on 3 October 1933 at the age of 45 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas.¹⁵¹ In 1910, Thurman was boarding with his cousin Albert C. Haden in Durant, Bryan Co OK. He was working as a bookkeeper in a bank. 1920 Census Durant Ward 2, Bryan Co, OK [on the same page as his uncle James C. Haden], Hh 20 Thurman A. Blakeney, age 31, b. TX, parents b. TX, Banker, Cashier Isabelle, wife, age 30, b. MD, her parents b. Scotland J. B. Haden spelled his name Thurman, although I've found it as "Truman" in other places and also as Thurmond. Thurman had some type of difficulty in 1923 - in a letter to his brother Jimmie, J. B. says "Thurman looks better than I thought he would after his terrible ordeal of a year ago. He is young enough to make complete recovery & recoup his fortune...." An earlier letter to Ollie dated 6 Jul 1923 says ..."I am gladder now than I can tell you, because your boy is being restored to you.....tell you how glad we all are because of his good progress toward recovery". I've never found Thurman in the 1930 census. Diary entry of 3 Oct 1933. Thurman Blakeney died last night. Thurman's death certificate states that he was buried in Durant, Oklahoma. He was widowed and a banker. The death certificate states that he was: Found dead in bed, due to Phenol poisoning, self- Administered. Death was a suicide. Mrs. W. T. Rountree, his sister, gave the information for his death certificate. His brother George also committed suicide. FindAGrave has his marker pictured. Thurman was buried Highland Cemetery, Durant, Bryan Co, OK. Isabelle is buried there, too, and they share a stone. She was born 1888, died 1920.
222	iv.	[Daughter] BLAKENEY was born on 28 December 1890 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas. She died on 29 December 1890 at the age of 0 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas. The 1900 census indicated they had seven children, six living. This infant is buried Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham.

224	vi.	Myrtle BLAKENEY was born in October 1895 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas.^155,157 Myrtle was still living at home in 1920. I have searched the Fannin Co 1930 census for a married Myrtle of the right age - it was obviously a popular name. I found no Myrtle that had married after 1920, and was born in Texas with parents born in the right places - nothing even close.

George Stuart BLAKENEY¹⁶⁸ was born on 28 April 1899 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas.^155,157 He died on 25 June 1956 at the age of 57 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. 12 Sep 1918 World War I Draft Card George Stuart Blakeney of Bonham, Texas, was 19, born 28 Apr 1899. He was a student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. B. G. Blakeney was his nearest relative. Description: tall, slender, gray eyes, Lt. brown hair. Note on back has "Inducted" George's Texas death certificate show his address in Dallas as 1002 Galloway. He was a bookkeeper at a wholesale drygoods business. It does give his parents as B. G. Blakeney and Olive Haden. The informant's signature was Mrs. Virginia Blakeney. He was listed as married, so presumably that was his wife. His death was self-inflicted; he took strychnine. He was found dead at home - the inquest was held on the same day as his death - 25 Jun 1956. George was buried Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. George's brother Thurman also committed suicide. 1930 Census. Dist. 34, Dallas, Dallas Co, TX, Sheet 18B, Hh 306 George S. Blakeney, age 30, b. TX, father b. AL, mother b. MO. Clerk at a lumber Co. He lived alone, probably in an apartment building. George is buried Grove Hill Memorial Park, Dallas. His wife is there as Virginia F. Blakeney, born 1896, died 1976.
