Johannes Bellinger 1, (the First) married Anna Maria Margaretha as hername was, in Simmendinger Census. It was just Margaret in BurnetsfieldPatent, 1723. He was born 1660 or before, to take in the known childrenand grandchildren and to care for the 1711 N.Y. State pay roll record ofhis carpenter work.
Children Six or more Bellinger
NOTE 8 and 9 disappear. In the 1712 Substance List, the 5 adults withJohannes included the two parents, also 6, 7 and 4: ie. Philip, Adam, andMaria Barbara who is the only one of whom we have anything definite onbirth and death dates.( This is a "try" to fit facts Not a guess.) 3Marcus had left a widow (second wife) before May 20, 1746, when the widowMargreth (Zeh) Bellinger was a sponsor for the Zeh-Bellinger family.
Public Documents
#1 Johannes Bellinger is referred to on the payroll in mss. room StateLibrary, Albany, New York, Dec 13, 1711. #2 Frederick Bellinger signedpay receipt "for himself and his father Johannes" for carpenter work onLivingston Manor.
In the Colonial Office, Class 5, Volume 1231 Journal of entries onsubsistence Lists of Palatines, (Mss. is in London. W. A. Knittle's Book, pages 282 to 291. Early 18th Century Palatine Emigration.) Histories and Books
See Book of Names, p 64 to 72, MacWethy, for Govenor Hunter's RationLists. In Semmendinger Census 1715-1717 ( by Enterprise and News, St.Johnsville, New York.) In New Queensbury, were #1 Johannes Bellinger andwife Anna Maria Margaretha with 2 children. Herkimer County Histories, like Benton, p 45 give to Johannes Lot No. 20 and to Margaret his wife, lot 22 in Mohawk.
Comment
Therefore Johannes was living after 1725, so was his wife. It isinteresting to follow the descent of Lot 20 to #6 Philip 2, to #51Lieutenant Colonel Frederick 3 P., to his son #284 Christopher 4 F., andto his son #1154 Christopher 5 C., also note that lot 22 followed thissame family to #1156 John 5 Bellinger who died 1871. The writer hasthrilling recollections of being chased out of the "sugar bush" on thislot in the early 70's. The sap was very, very sweet.
The map of East Camp and information on Germantown is not very good, but the best I know is in the book, Town of Clermont by Thomas Hunt,1928, p. 56; Church locations of 1711 to 1816 are on p. 121; other noteson pp. 42, 116. Important! W.A Knittles book, 194 locates Schohariecounty villages, p. 65, p. 248, also mentions over 2082 Palatines out of13,000, NOT in the Embarkation Lists, as either paying their own passage,OR, passage paid by local (Holland) charities. Take your choice for theBellingers. They are not in the lists.
