SHEFFIELD — Mrs. Mary E. Houghton. 83. died yesterday morning at the convalescent home at Princeton. Funeral services will be held in Manlius at the Trinity Lutheran church at 2 Friday. Friends may call at the funeral home in Manlius Thursday night.
She was born in Brattleboro, Vt.. in 1867. and movec to Sheffield in 1889 with her husband. Lawson C. Houghton. He died several years ago. Mrs. Houghton had been living in Manlius for a few years. She had spent most of her married life in Sheffield, but later lived in Princeton and Manlius.
She was active in civic affairs while living in Sheffield. Her activities included serving as president of the Woman's club.
Surviving are three sons, Nelson o. Sheffield. Lowell of Portland. Ore., and William of Sheffield.
