Elizabeth died shortly after the birth of the daughter.  Alfred immigrated to the USA in 1867 with his two children.  He settled in Plymouth, Luzerne County, PA.  In late 1870 Alfred met and Married Eliza Elliott.  In 1871 Alfred and the daughter died in a typhoid epidemic.  My grandfather Alfred Raphael Houghton was born Sept 23, 1871 and never knew his father.

I have not been able to locate Fr-grandfather's grave and am still looking.  Are you sure you want all this?  Because I have tons to put in (Grandfather had fifteen kids!) and I have a lineage in Cornwall
(not with the whole group) that extends to the present time.  We had one who died in WWII in the
battle of "A Bridge Too Far".

Very prolific bunch, at least some of them!  My dad and one sister had only one child but the rest went from 5- 10.  I keep the reunion book so am pretty up to date on this side of ocean.6
