Mr. Bullard was born in Georgia in 1852, came to Texas in 1875 and bought land on Blue Ridge in this county. By 1897 he was living in the edge of Hamilton and owned 500 acres of land. Though he dealt some in the mercantile business, he relied on farming and ranching for most of his income.

He was the father of Mrs. Will Chumney [Sarah Augusta (Bullard) Chumney–Mrs. William Arthur Chumney] and Mrs. Will Stidham [Aurora P. (Bullard) Cadwell] , both of whom now live in Hamilton.
