MR. MARTIN

Tradition has it that James Martin was traveling through the area in a covered wagon when he was murdered by Indians. He was buried by his traveling companions at the spot where the Church of Christ now stands. His grave was marked by rocks (native stones) until the ground was bulldozed for the erection of the church several years ago.
