Chattooga County Courthouse, built in 1909

This postcard showing the first Chattooga County courthouse, bears a Dec. 2, 1906 postmark from Chattanooga, Tenn., so the photo was taken in 1906 or earlier. Built in 1840, this building served as courthouse until the present courthouse was built in 1909.

This wonderful collection of vintage Chattooga County Postcards was submitted by Lisa Kinyon and come from a collection previously owned by her great-grandmother, Mary Miscall Bridges.
