A SAD ACCIDENT

Mrs. Wm. TYSON Is Seriously Injured By A Runaway Horse
Mrs. Wm. TYSON proprietress of the Starke House of this palce happened to a very serious accident Tuesday. Mrs. TYSON had driven out to her place west of this city and as she was preparing to start home she raised an umbrella which frightened the horse. The animal soon became unmanageable and ran through the woods at a rapid rate. Mrs. TYSON was thrown from the buggy receiving injuries that may prove fatal. She was brought to this city at once and Dr. STEWART was called. The doctor did everything possible to releive her sufferings but it is feared that she will not recover.

DEATH OF MRS. EMILY TYSON

We regret to chronicle the death of Mrs. Emily TYSON wife of Mr. William TYSON of the Starke House. Since the accident of her being violently thrown from the buggy when her horse ran away Tuesday morning September 26, Mrs. TYSON suffered greatly. Everything was done both by her physician and her many friends to allay the pain but the injuries were so deep and severe that death ended her sufferings Monday night at 9 o'clock. She was buried Wednesday at 11 o'clock in the Crosby lake cemetery. The funeral services were conducted at the Starke House Wednesday morning by her pastor Rev. W. H. STEINMEYER of the Methodist Church of which she was a member. The funeral was attended by a large number of sympathizing friends. Mrs. TYSON will be greatly missed as she was very popular and had a host of friends both in Starke and the surrounding county. She was a good woman, had a warm heart and a kind word for everyone. The Advocate extends heart felt sympathy to the bereaved husband and family.

Whereas, Death has visited our community and taken from us Mrs. TYSON, the wife of our beloved Bro. Wm. TYSON, therefore
Resolved, That we extend to our much beloved Brother our deep felt sympathy in his sad bereavement and commend him to the Lord
Who is able to sanctify this sad dispensation of his Providence to his spritual good. We recommend that a copy of this resolution be furnished our bereaved Brother and a copy spread upon our minutes, and aslo a copy furnished the papers for publication.

Leon Conner

Leon Conner, 85, father of Florida Agriculture Commissioner Doyle Conner, died Saturday, June 1, 1985 following a lengthy illness.

The elder Conner, a native and lifelong resident of Starke was a retired building inspector at the University of Florida.

Survivors include: his wife, Fronie Crews Conner of Starke, a daughter, June Peterson of Lake City; two sons, Doyle of Tallahassee and Glenn of Orlando; a step-son William Spencer Crews of Jacksonville; three brothers, Raleigh, Marcus and Loren, all of Starke; four sisters, Roberta Sapp, Edith Hutchinson, Ida Mae Shaw and Elna Schaffer, all of Starke; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

CONNER, Leon--Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 1985 at 3:00 p.m. in the Pine Level Baptist Church withthe Rev. Roman Alvarez and the Rev. L.E. Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Crosby Cemetery in Starke. Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke, FL is in charge of all arrangements.
