Mrs. Sarah Lucille Thornton age 82 of Greenville, AL departed this life Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Crown Nursing Home in Greenville, AL. Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Michael Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery Elba, AL. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Survivors include Son-James Griffin Thornton Jr. (Anne) of Knoxville, TN, Son-John Allen Thornton of Brewton, AL, Son-Glen David Thornton (Lynn) of Lapine, AL, Son-Sidney Craig Thornton of Brewton, AL, Daughter-Sabra Allyson Thornton (Bruce Barnes) of Fort Walton Beach, FL. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Thornton was preceded in death by Mother-Bessie Ophelia Eiland and Father-Esmer Eiland a son-Michael Thomas Thornton and a Granddaughter-Stephanie King. Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama is serving the Thornton family.
