Clay Grice and Rev. Clyde Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Clanton City cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 14, 2001, from noon-1p.m. Down was born on March 24, 1907, in Alabama, the daughter of the late Wiley Foshee and the late Ella Foshee. She was a homemaker. She died on June 11, 2001, at Chilton Medical Center. Survivors include one son, Stephen G. Downs, Roswel, Ga.; one daughter, Dorothy Downs Houston, Clanton; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ben Downs, Jr.
