Vol.1 No.1 says he is a direct descendent of Baron Hugh (Roger) De
Rennes of Rennes (Brittany), and when France invaded England he was
with William the Conqueror in 1066, he became a Duke and held lands
today known as Raynes Park in England. More recent information does
not say this though, for the true history or Raynes Park see "Raynes

Bowman. Transferred Jun 1778 to Capt. Kirkpatrick's Co. of 4th VA
Reg., commanded at various times by Col. James Wood and Col. John
Neville. First engaged in battle with Indians at Point Pleasant,

while living in Lewis Co, VA 1832. Supporting data from Elizabeth
Lacy, as sister, Adam Rouse, and Thomas Bland. Pension seems to
have been temporarily suspended, but resumed 1836.
