According to oral history, Malcolm disappeared during the Mexican Revolution of 1910.  His wife and sister-in-law, Lucy Prescott Moore, went down to Mexico looking for him.  Supposedly they never found him.  However, Malcolm Poole had not died.  He had another wife and a son born in 1908 in Chihuahua, Mexico - the same year that his daughter Doris K Poole, was born in Pittsburgh.  .  See passport posted below which was issued in 1918.

James Ellsworth Poole was born in Mexico so it seems he had met up with Jesse Ellsworth before he moved to Brazil.

1910-1912 Louise Moore Poole and her sister, Lucy Moore, go to Mexico looking for Louise’s husband, Malcom Poole, who they think has disappeared during the Mexican Revolution. Supposedly they came home unable to locate him and assumed he was dead.

1910 Malcom Poole arrives in NY from Barbados on 28 Jan 1910 traveling with William F. Gausta.

1910-1914 Passport applications list him as living in Montevideo, Uruguay

1914 Malcolm Poole arrives in NY from Montevideo with James Ellsworth Poole, age 5. Last permanent address listed as Akron, Ohio for both Malcolm and James Ellsworth Poole. Jesse Ellsworth is not listed.

1918 Apr 4 Passport application. Permanent address Lancaster Co., VA. Works for Swift & Co. Living in Uruguay.

1920 Passport applications. Wife, Jesse Ellsworth Poole, and son, James Ellsworth, both listed. Permanent address Washington DC. Working for Ulen Contracting

1942 March 3, Malcom Poole leaves Buenos Aires, Argentina for New Orleans. Lists address as 1420 Cambarrone St. New Orleans. No companion
