JAMES CHRISTY, GREENBRIER COUNTY.
A James Christy, other than Julius Christy's son of that name, lived in Greenbrier County Virginia at the same time as Julius and his family. This James Christy married Sarah Scarborough. He was the first minister of Rehobeth Methodist Church, Madison County Virginia. He owned 300 acres in Greenbrier County in 1785.
An ISABELLE CHRISTY married George Bailey in Greenbrier County 1 April 1797.

BERKELEY COUNTY VIRGINIA, Book 12, pg. 372, 1832 will of ROBERT CHRISTY: Instructs to be buried under a Mulberry tree on "my land." also Free all slaves. Sell all personal property and use proceeds to settle slaves in Canada, Africa, or United States, where emancipated slaves are permitted., whichever they may choose to go, but "I should prefer their going to Africa. If they choose Africa put funds in hand of "Colonization Society" for pupose of transporting them and making them comfortable there. Rent out or lease Real Estate, from proceeds a Perpetual General Fund for the purpose of building a school house upon my land and having the poor orphan children of the neighborhood schooled to such extent as my executors think proper. Executors to appoint trustees of this fund and to select children worthy and employ teacher 6 August 1837. Codicil: James Thompson to have 28 acres free of rent for life. 28 November 1837.

Married Mary Dawson, daughter of Thomas Dawson and Ann B. Kopp. Mary was born 6 Jan. 1794, Berkeley County West Virginia, died 30 November 1874. They are buried at Washington Court House, Ohio. WILLIAM CHRISTY of Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Missouri:
WILLIAM CHRISTY served 1791-94 from Jefferson County Kentucky, Lt. of Cavalry Corps, served under Wayne. Born Carlisle, Pennsylvania, died in St. Louis.
A biographical sketch of this WILLIAM CHRISTY in 1899 edition of ENCYCLOPEDIA OF ST LOUIS adds that he was a son of Captain Thomas Christy and that his ancestors were from County Down Ireland but were of Scottish origin. Captain Thomas Christy settled at Carlisle, Pennsylvania, removed to Fort Pitt and later to a farm in Kentucky. Both parents died in Kentucky when William was fifteen years old. Two younger sisters were left in his care, and were provided for by a comfortable inheritance. He participated in three Campaigns of 1795 against the Indians. After the Treaty of Greenville he moved to St. Louis. He married Martha Thompson Taylor, a daughter of Edward (Edmund, r.t.z.) and Sally Taylor of Jefferson County Kentucky. He died in 1837. His wife died in 1849. Their children were: VIRGINIA CHRISTY, who married Dr. E Bathurst Smith; HARRIET CHRISTY, who married Captain James S. Dean; EDMUND CHRISTY, who died unmarried; HOWARD CHRISTY, who married Susan Preston of Kentucky; SARAH CHRISTY, who married Dr. Bernard G. Farrar; MARY CHRISTY, who married Major Thomas Wright; MATILDA CHRISTY, who married a Dr. Walker and later married Colonel N. P. Taylor; FRANCES CHRISTY, who married Major Taylor Berry and later married Judge Robert Wash; and ELIZA CHRISTY, who married General William H. Ashley.

MARY CHRISTY OF JEFFERSON COUNTY KENTUCKY: Will, August 25, 1781. "Mary Christy, a widow, being sick, gives to WILLIAM CHRISTY, her oldest son, the house and lot she presently occupies in Louisville. To son THOMAS CHRISTY her right to preemption warrant for 400 acres on Licking Creek, to SARAH CHRISTY AND JENNY CHRISTY, daughter, all the household furniture except the bedding and pewter, and asks that the same be sold as soon as convenient after her decease and the proceeds be applied toward the education and clothing of Sarah and Jenny. Also one black cow and calf, and one horse, if found, to be sold and applied toward the same. All cash and residue of the Estate, and debts to her children, WILLIAM, THOMAS, SARAH AND JENNY, to be equally divided. Recommends that son THOMAS be in the charge and care of friend Israel Rowland." DAVID CHRISTY:
A David Christy appears in the census and court records of Boone County Kentucky. He was a son of John Christy and Agnes Drennon Christy, of Cumberland County Pennsylvainia. The 1810 census shows David and his wife and 1 son and 3 daughters. The 1820 census indicates 4 sons and 3 daughters. David's daughter Eliza Christy, married James Ruddell (Riddell?) in Boone County the 17th. November 1822. David Christy was a bondsman. A Priscilla Christy married Reuben Christy 2 June 1825 in Boone County. David Christy was a bondsman. A son of David was nambed Abner Christy. About 1825 David Christy moved to Clay County Indiana where his brother William was living.
JAMES CHRISTY
A James Christy, living in Morgan
County Kentucky in 1834, applied for a pension for service in the Revolutionary
War. This James Christy was born in London, England in 1746.
He enlisted in Virginia in 1778. He lived in Moroe County Virginia
in 1774 (Greebrier County at that time). His application was rejected.
