From Sons and Daughters of Shetland by Margaret Stuart Robertson who took her information from The Shetland Times 1/9/1873:-

He was Master of the the Bulldog throughout the Crimean war and was awarded the Baltic Medal. He carried Admiral Charles Napier on that ship, bearing the declaration of war against Russia in the year 1864.

Morrison was known to have suppressed slavery and piracy on the south and west coasts of Africa and China. He visited Shetland in 1873. One of his sonsbecame a monk and was shot in a taxi in Antwerp. Staff Commander Morrison's portrait was sent to Shetland and can be viewed in the main room of the Town Hall. =============================================
