NEWTON-DUNAWAY  FAMILY  CEMETERY

This cemetery is located on the Old Champagnolle plantation, Northeast of El Dorado.  This canvass was done by Ralph O. & Violet Weldon on January 25, 1986.

JOHN  NEWTON      1-15-1805   to   11-3-1851

 

JOHN  C.  DUNAWAY    1822  to  6-18-1847  a native of Autauga Co., AL

*There is another Newton cemetery, East of El Dorado, about 300 ' off Hwy. 82 East, near Dunbar lane.  Until a few months ago this cemetery was taken over by dense brush & almost impossible to get to.  I visited it in April 2004 & found 3 tombstones in pristine condition, for Newtons.  It was fenced off with old wooden post & steel cable, about  10 x 10 '. (The fence / cable was partially collapsed)  See the other listing.
