    A pretty wedding occured at St Mary's Church yesterday afternoon when Miss Helen Cunningham of Prospect Ave & Mr Thomas Regan , a popular young man of Dunmore, were wedded by Rev MB Donlan. The bride was attended by Miss Sarah Mulrane, while Mr William Jordan acted as groomsman. A reception was held afterwards.

    Miss Agnes Burkhouse & Edward Earley were united in marriage at St Peter's Cathedral yesterday. The ceremony was performed by Rev Fr Fitzgerald of Havre de Grace, MD in the presence of a large number of friends. The bride was attended by her sister, Emma Burkhouse, and Daniel Lundy was groomsman. After the ceremony the bridal party enjoyed a wedding breakfast at the bride's home and at 10 am left on a wedding trip which will include Washington, Baltimore & Havre de Grace, MD. Mrs Earley is the charming daughter of M/M William Burkhouse of Mill St and is well and popularly known here. Mr Earley is one of Dunmore's most prominent young men.

    Miss Lillian Mangan of Cork Lane, Pittston, and Michael H Hennigan of Dunmore were married yesterday by Monsignor K P O'Malley (sic -- license was signed by Rev Richard D Jordan) in St John's Church, Pittston.... attended by her sister, Miss Alice Mangan and the best man was Thomas L O'Malley [possibly Michael's cousin, Thomas O'Malley son of Thomas & Catherine Flynn O'Malley] of Dunmore. Bride and bridesmaid were similarly attired in navy blue suits with blue hats. The bride carried a white prayer book and the bridesmaid, a gold rosary. M/M Hennigan drove to Scranton for a dinner at the Hotel Jermyn. Left on a trip to NY and will reside on Wheeler Ave, Scranton. Mrs Hennigan is the daughter of M/M Thomas Mangan of William St, Pittston. Mr Hennigan is the well-known DL&W engineer.

    One of the prettiest midsummer weddings took place Tues evening at the home of Mr & Mrs Benjamin Bowser of Hyde Park, when the eldest daughter, Miss Elizabeth , became the wife of Rudolph Pobgee of Wheeler Ave. Rev TA Humphrey, DD, of Taylor, officiated. Atendants, Miss Elizabeth Williams & William Stephens. The bride wore a blue traveling suit with matching hat and carried a bouquet of white china asters. The maid was also in blue. After the ceremony attended only by near relatives, there was a supper & then the bride & groom left on a midnight train to Buffalo, Niagra Falls, Toronto, etc. They will be home to friends aft 4 Sep at 517 Hogerts Place.

    The bride was a former employee of the International Correspondence School proofreading department and a most popular young woman, well-known in Hyde Park and for a number of years organist at the Welsh Congregationalist Church. Mr Pobgee is connected with the well-known firm of Peter Stipp & Co, contractors, and is one of the coming men of our city.

    Miss Katherine Lenahan , 530 Fourth Ave, Bellevue, and John Hennigan , Dunmore, were married Weds in Holy Cross Church, Bellevue by Rev WR O'Donnell. The bride wore a gown of white baby Irish embroidery and a white picture hat with plumes, and carried a bouquet of bridal roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Kathryn Walsh, wore a gown of white embroidery over pink satin and a black hat with willow plumes, carrying a bouquet of pink tea roses. James Hennigan, a brother of the groom, was best man. A reception followed at the home of the bride, followed by a wedding dinner, after which they left on their honeymoon in Buffalo and Niagra Falls. They will live on Spring St in Dunmore.

    [photos] M/M Rudolph Kunz Sr , 407 Cedar Ave, will celebrate their 56th wedding aniversary today with a family dinner at the Flamingo Inn, Lake Sheridan. The couple was married 28 Aug 1893 in Christ Lutheran Church, Cedar Ave, by the late Rev F Holter. Mr Kunz was born in Nohen, Germany & came to this country with his paretns at 2, settling in South Scranton. Mrs Kunz was born in Dudenrode, Germany & came to this country at 18. living in Honesdale for a short while before coming to Scranton. Both are 79. The 4 sons followed in the footsteps of their father, who learned the printing trade at the age of 12. Rudy Jr is asst foreman of the Scrantonian-Tribune Composing Room. Edward is also employed there. Philip & Henry are pressmen in the Govt Printing Office in Washington DC. Their 2 daughters are Mrs Bertram Bell of Scranton & Mrs Ralph Sprandel of Washington DC. Mr Kunz retired several years ago from the printing business. He conducted a shop at 407 Cedar Ave.

Ushers were John F Quinn of Moscow, brother of the bride, and Frank H Conway of Washington DC, brother of the groom. Reception in the American Legion Home, Dunmore, followed breakfast for the wedding party & immediate families at the Dietrick.... M/M Conway will spend their honeymoon at the the seashore... and reside in Philadelphia. The bride is a graduate of Dunmore HS & Scranton-Lackawanna College; was employed in the treasurer's office of the Univ of Scranton. The groom is a graduate of Dunmore HS & the Univ of Scranton; chemist at the US Navy Yard in Philadelphia & navy veteran of WWII.

    M/M John A Bewick, Sr , 214 Helen St, Dunmore, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Fri 30 Aug. Mrs Bewick, the former Margaret Neary , is the daughter of the late M/M Patrick Neary. Mr Bewick is the son of the late M/M Ralph Bewick. Married 30 Aug 1924 in St Mary of Mt Carmel Church, Dunmore, by the late Rev Anthoiny Broderick. Their attendants were Mrs Edward Dougher, sister of Mrs Bewick, and Edward Bewick, brother of Mr Bewick. Renewal of vows will take place Sun at St Mary's by the Rev Paul Flynn. THe couple will be feted by their children, John Jr & Patrick Bewick and Mrs James D Campbell at a dinner and reception at the Green Ridge Club, Scranton, on Sun. Nine grandchildren. Prior to retirement, Mr Bewick owned & operated Bewick's Service Station, Dunmore.
