Mrs Mary Morgan, widow of John, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs Frank Houck, 326 Decker Ct. Would have been 84 in April. Lived in West Scranton over 75 years. Survived by the following children, Mrs Mary Mellow of Philadelphia; Mrs Ellen (sic - Eliza) Hughes, Mrs Frank Houck, and Morgan Harris of Scranton.
Thur 6 Jan 1927; Funeral of Mrs John Morgan, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Frank Houck, took place today. Mrs Morgan is the last of the women widowed as a result of the Avondale disaster, 6 Sep 1869, which killed 110 men. Moved to Scranton after the disaster. Shady Lane Cemetery, Chinchilla.
