LAUDERDALE COUNTY, ALABAMA
CEMETERIES - TOWNSHIP 2, RANGE 12
GRAY CEMETERY
(Black)
Surveyed by Orlan Irons, 31 Jan 1989
To reach this cemetery, turn off AL 20 (Savannah Highway), onto Lauderdale 14 (Waterloo Road), go 3.1 miles; turn right on Lauderdale 19, go 9.4 miles. The cemetery is on the right side of the road, in a clump of cedar trees, in front of Vernon Jones' house. The people buried here are black. I could see 8-10 sunken holes. A lady that lives nearby told me there were lots more unmarked graves here than this. This cemetery is on Vernon Jones' land. It is not listed on the Lauderdale County Highway Map. The legal description for the cemetery is SW4, SW4, Sec 36, T2S, R12W.
