Club Anniversary Celebrated

  The XYZ Club of Drew Baptist Church its celebrated the 25th anniversary with a potluck dinner.   The current officers include: Charlie Brock, president; Willie Belle Weaver: vice president; Sara Burchfield, secretary; and
Gerry Brock, Program chairman.  The club was founded on Oct. 28, 1976

Calhoun (0-9) at NSA (1-8)

  This is the one that's been circled on both of these teams calendars.
  Calhoun limps into this game winless and is giving up and average of 28 points per game while scoring just 3.5. North Sunflower technically has a victory (a forfeit win over Greenville Christian in a game NSA actually lost 58-6).  NSA is giving up a state-high  50.6 points per game, while averaging just 2.4 points per contest.
   Kickoff in Drew is set for 7 p.m.

Sunflower Loses High-Scoring Game

   Hebron Christian jumped out to a 35-0 halftime lead Thursday and held on in the second half for a win over North Sunflower Academy. The loss drops the Rebels to 2-5 on the season.
   Each team had 13 first downs in the contest, but Hebron racked up 531 yards of total offense and NSA had 344. The Rebels rushed for 216 yards on 30 carries and passed for 128 yards.
   Hebron jumped ahead 44-0 halfway through the third quarter, but North Sunflower scored 22 points in the period to climb back into the ball game.
  Blake Holder led NSA's attack with 260 offensive yards and three touchdowns. He rushed 14 times for 132 yards, including touchdown runs of 35 and 1 yards, respectively. He was 6-of-19 passing for 128 yards. He also recovered two fumbles, and returned one 51 yards for a touchdown.
  Allen Arant tallied 148 yards of offense. He rushed 10 times for 70 yards and had three receptions for 78 yards. Arant scored North Sunflower's other touchdown on a 51-yard scamper and he also added a two-point conversion. Tim Melton ran in two conversions for the Rebels.
