Arvel F. Burkhart

Arvel Franklin Burkhart, 68, of 135 Six Mile Heights Road, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, in Anderson. 

A native of Harlan, Ky., he was a son of the late Arbin and Dener Hunt Burkhart. He was a retired painter and Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict. 

Survivors: wife, Shelia Denise Wilson Burkhart of the home; sons, Brandon Burkhart of the home, Dennis Burkhart of Hawaii, Donnie Burkhart of California, and Shawn Burkhart of Dawsonville, Ga.; daughters, Cynthia Burkhart, Pamela Burkhart of the home, Debra Burkhart and Gwinn Burkhart of Hawaii, and Tracy Burkhart of Greenville; brothers, John Burkhart of Easley, Tommy Hollingsworth of Gastonia, Ala., and Bill Hollingsworth of Gainesville, Ga.; a sister, Jessie Massey of Flower Branch, Ga.; and a number of grandchildren. 

Memorial service: 4 p.m. Friday at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
