Robert Eli Edry Calhoun Hanna was born in Greenbrier county, (now) West Virginia,
July 6, 1861. Robert Calhoun Hanna was his father, and his mother is Catharine Elizabeth Hanna. His father was
shot in the arm by Confederate soldiers and died from the effects, and in the same year, with his mother, the
subject of this sketch went to Kentucky. In 1865, they came to Lincoln county, which has since been their home.
The father and his mother was of Dutch ancestry. Of Mr. Hanna was of Irish descent. He is combining the labors
of farm life with the profession of teaching, and may be addressed at Gviffithsville, Lincoln county, West
Virginia.
