Rev. Tandy Griffith Bonham is a son of William Henry and Adahine (Tuhley) Bonham
of Kanawha county, and was born in that county, February 16, 1847. When the last call for troops was made by
the Federal government, he enlisted in Company A, 7th West Virginia Cavalry, and had seen six months service
when peace was declared. He received his discharge at Wheeling, Ohio county, West Virginia. In Kanawha county,
March 14, 1867, was solemnized the marriage of Rev. T. G.. Bonham and Emily Catharine Young, and their union
has been blessed with four children, of whom one has preceded them to the better land. Joseph Elben, born
April 13, 1868, died September 29, 1871; Jinnettie Ann was born July 12, 1870; William Robert, January 6, 1874;
Mansfield McWhorter, May 2, 1876. The wife of Mr. Bonham was born in Kanawha county, November 17, 1849, daughter
of Robert and Ann (Wallace) Young. In 1832 (webmaster note: either this date or the birthdate is incorrect) Mr. Bonham
came to Duval district, Lincoln county, and in addition to his ministerial labors, he gives attention to the
cultivation of a farm he there owns of 125 acres. He has fifty acres cleared, with a black loam soil, producing
all kinds of grain, grass and fruit in abundance. The rest of his land lies well for cultivation, but is now
well covered with timber. His postoffice address is Griffithsville, Lincoln county, West Virginia.
