Many thanks to Johnny Palka for giving the program about his book My Slovakia, My Family to our group. We all learned a lot about Slovakian history and about the newly formed Czechoslovakia! A first hand account makes it so personal and interesting!!

The meeting was well attended!!! Thank you to Ed Schultz who provided the computer and computer projector!! And thank you to the people who brought treats. We are well fed!! (Johnny will be one of the presenters at the SVE Convention.)

Next meeting is August 24th 9:30 to Noon. I will have the Genealogy Relationship Chart handout for you that Bettelinn shared at the July meeting. No meeting in September!

August 30 - September 1 is the the Czechoslovak Society of Arts & Sciences Convention at the University of Washington. We are so lucky to have this group bring their convention to Seattle! It will take place at Alder Commons at the University of Washington. A registration form is provided below. The panel format on Saturday will accommodate the 27 presentations. There is a banquet and chances to network with folks from all over the country.
