The Conatser Family Enroote

Six sons of Daniel Conatser of Jasper Tennessee
started to North Carolina, but instead they decided to go to
California. They were John Albert, William, James, Dan, Alex and
Frank Conatser and the summer before the Civil War, while on the journey
west, some of the party decided to abandon the trip to California and
John Albert Settled in Arkansas and James Harvey Conatser and his wife
Mary Ann Easley Conatser settled in Palo Pinto County rearing two sons,
Tom and William, and a daughter, Easter. Tom married Elmer
Ragsdale and had a son and a daughter, Delia, who married C. R.
Estill. The Estills have a son, Virgil and a daughter, Eula May
(Mrs. Earl Akins). Easter Conatser married Jim Lewis and reared a
family of five children, most of whom live in Oklahoma. James
Harvey Conatser died in Palo Pinto in 1883. |
