James Harvey Conatser was born in Marion County Tennessee, November 1820, came to Texas in the early 1860s and settled in Palo Pinto County.  He married Mary Ann Easley in Tennessee.  Conatser died in 1883 and is buried at Palo Pinto 

A son of J. H. Conatser, Alfred, born in 1863 in Palo Pinto County, and he married Elmer Sudie Ragsdale, a native Texan, also.  They were married in Gordon in 1881.  Their daughter, Mary Ann Cordelia, married Clarence R. Estill.

The Estills are the parents of two children, Virgil M., who married Mary F. Stofney; and Eula May, who married Earl Aiken.  Grandchildren of Virginia Stofney, Caroline, Alton Glenn and Ruby Aiken.  Ruby Aiken married Joe Stockton and their two children are Larry Wayne and Patricia Ann.  This makes six generations of the family in Texas.
