Services for King John Lawson, 36, of Pharr, were at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2001, at the Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Leonard Chatham officiating and Rev. Raymond Roberts assisting.

Burial was in the West Side Cemetery in Lorenzo under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

He died Wednesday, February 28, 2001, at McAllen, TX, at the Rio Grande Regional Hospital.

He was born December 23, 1964, in Crosbyton.

He married Rosalinda Martinez.

He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Lorenzo. He was a 1983 graduate of Lorenzo High School.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Lawson in 1994.

Survivors include: His wife, Rosie Martinez of Pharr; 4 sons, King John Lawson, Jr., of Pharr, Lamar Lawson of Pharr, Martin Lawson of Pharr, and John Andrew Lawson of Pharr; 1 daughter, Anastacia Rose Lawson of Pharr; his mother, Frankie Lawson of Lubbock; 5 brothers, Billy Ray Lawson of Dalhart, Bobby Ray Lawson of Lubbock, Darrell Lawson of Lubbock, Richard Lawson of Huntsville, and Tommy Lawson of Lubbock; 4 sisters, Betty Anderson of Lubbock, Wanda Anderson of Lubbock, Susie Lawson of Lubbock, Evelyn Lawson of Lubbock.
