Edward Forrester
This indenture made and entered into this 3rd day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight by and between Edward Forrester of the County of Marion and State of Tennessee of the one part and David Rankin of the same County and State of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold to the said David Rankin his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Marion on the South side of the Tennessee river and adjoining lands of the said David Rankin, James M. Carroll and a tract of sixty four acres entered in the name of Edward Holliway in the Ocoee District Containing Ninety eight acres be the same more or less it being in the Ocoee District including the place whereon the said Edward Forrester now lives situate in the sixth range West of the Basis line second fractional Township fourth Section being the North West fractional quarter of said section Beginning at the North East corner of said fractional quarter.
With its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said David Rankin his heirs and assigns forever and will warrant and forever defend the title to the said tract of land to the said David Rankin his heirs and assigns forever from me my heirs and every other persons whatsoever.
