John Simons and Patience his wife was both born and married in the State of Virginia they moved in to the state of South Carolina in the year 1766 and brought with them four Sons and Three Daughters, to wit, Jesse, Peninah Priscilla, John, Arthur, Shadrach & Averillar. (the year was very hard to transcribe but appears to be 1766)

Jesse the oldest son after (this line had been struck thru)

My father John Simons when between the age of 60 and 70 years in Time of the late war was Taken prisoner of his Own house Casted in to the Garison of Charleston and died in Confinement in October 1780, My Mothers Maiden Name was Dew, and Descended from an Ancient family of that name in the Lower part of Virginia. She Survived my father Only Abought Six Months and died of the Smallpox in the year 1781- Jesse the eldest son died in Brittons Neck in the year 1786, he had bin Twice married and left behind him five Children - John Simons Junr. was wounded in the Battle of the Eutaws fought on the Eight day of Sept. 1781, and Died in 12 hours. His Death lamented was with Tears and all seem'd to offer for his Soul their prayers.

Priscilla Simons was born Oct. 18. 1751

John Simons was born August 5, 1753

Arthur Simons was born April 23, 1756

Shadrach Simons was born Feb. 13, 1758

Avirilla Simons was born Sept 3, 1761

Averillar Simons Departed this Life in the year of our Lord 1781.

Arthur Simons Departed this life in February 1790___ bin Twice married but left no Issue.

Shadrach Simons was born in the year of Our Lord 1758 February the 11. (Shadrack's birth year was first written 8, over-written 9)

Shad.th Simons and Mary Bellune was married the 30th of Decem 1783--

Mary Simons Departed this life the 7 day of Decm 1784 after being Delivered of a daughter who died at the same Time.

Shadrack Simons and Elizabeth Britton Dowager of the late Henry Britton was married the 12th day of July in the year of our Lord 1785.( 11 written first for day of marriage, written over to make 12)

Mary Simons was Born the 28 of March 1786 at Midnight ( the year was first a 5, written over to 6)

Elizabeth Ann Britton Simons was born 30 of March 1786 on Thursday Morning 8 Oclock (Twins)

Elisabeth Ann Simons was born the 9th day of Oct 1788 at One Oclock in the Morning (words "was born" crossed out, deceased written above, deceased crossed out, finally was born written again)

Elizabeth Ann Britton Simons Deceased the 17th of September 1786 (October written first, crossed out, September written above)

Charlotte Peninah Simons Daughter of Shadrack & Elizabeth Simons was born on Saturday the 2 day of April 1791 at 35 after five in the afternoon

John Joseph Simons son of Shadrack & Elizabeth his wife was born the 11 June in the year of our Lord 1793 Tuesday evening 1/2 after Nine OClock

Samuel R Mouzon and Mary Simons was Married the 29 of March in the year of our Lord, one Thousand Eight Hundred and, Four.

Henry Mouzon son of Samuel and Mary Mouzon was born on Thursday Night, the 28 of February 1805 at midnight

Samuel Simons Mouzon Son of Saml and Mary Mouzon was born Friday Evening at 7 Oclock 5 th day June 1807.

Shadrach Simons Departed this Life on the 4th April 1801 in the 44th year of his age.

Elizabeth Simons Departed this life on the 24th of Feby 1802 in the 49 th year of her age

Elizabeth Ann White Departed this life on Thursday 7th August 1807. Aged 18 Years 10 months & 18 days

John Knox & Charlotte Peninah Simons were Married Thursday 21st May 1808

John Johnston Knox was born Monday 13th of March 1809

Charlotte Peninah Knox Departed this Life on Wednesday 15th March 1809. Aged 17 Years 11 Months & 3 days
