Beechridge Cemetery Appendix A - non memorialized burials

Beechridge Cemetery

Deaths and Burials listed in church records at Beechridge but not reported on Memorials

The following burials are reported in the church records for the Beechridge Presbyterian Church but do not appear on any of the legible inscriptions on the monuments in the church yard. Some of these burials may have been inscribed on monuments that have since become illegible or disintegrated but most of them probably never had a monument erected in their name. Most of the records state specifically if the burial was in the Beechridge Burying Ground (except for the 1837-43 period when the minister never mentioned place of burial) so I am confident that these names do represent burials in the Beechridge Cemetery. Many of the records do not state the date of death but in the 19th century and up to the mid 20th century, burial was usually on the second day after death. As is usual with church records, the spelling is often at the mercy of the minister and is reported here the way it appears in the record unless a parent or witness signature clarifies the surname spelling.
