FORMER CITIZEN DEAD
MR. HECTOR McDONALD, OF THE
AMERICAN SOO, PASSED TO HIS
REWARD ON SUNDAY EVENING
MEAFORD EXPRESS (1911) - After an illness of some three weeks from typhoid fever and inflammatory rheumatism, Mr. Hector McDonald, a former well known resident of Meaford, passed away at his home in the American Soo, on Sunday evening. His death was very unexpected and came as a severe shock to his family and friends.
The late Mr. McDonald was born in St. Vincent and spent the greater portion of his life in and around his old home, having conducted a harness making business in town for a number of years. About twenty years ago, he and his family moved to the Soo where he continues to reside until his demise. During his long residence here he made many friends, whom he visited from time to time since his removal. As a business man he was well like and was highly spoken of in the town.
Deceased is survived by a widow, and a family of five, 4 girls and one boy, as follows: - Mrs. T.H. Gibbert, Minneapolis, Min; Mrs. Harry Everett, American Soo, and Misses Floss and Blanche, at home; and Raymond McDonald, of Minneapolis.
The funeral took place yesterday afternoon from the family residence to -osewood Cemetery , Sault Ste. Marie, under Masonic auspices.
