HENRY MANLEY DIES AT MEAFORD
MEAFORD, April 20 -- Meaford lost another well known and highly esteemed citizen when Mr. Henry Manley passed away at his home on Trowbridge street on Tuesday evening. The late Mr. Manley, who was 85 years of age, had been in poor health for the past two years. He was very well known in Meaford and the surrounding district and a host of friends will hear of his passing with deep regret.
The late Mr. Manley was a native of England and came to Meaford sixty years ago. He conducted a drug business here for several years, retiring thirty five years ago.
Deceased was married in 1873 to Miss Mary A. Watson, who predeceased him two years ago. The late Mr. Manley had no children but one brother, Horace of Toronto, and four sisters Mrs. D. Spence of California, Mrs. Forest of Seattle, Wash., and Miss E.M. Manley and Mrs. Bell, both of Vancouver, B.C., are left to mourn his passing.
The late Mr. Manley was a member of the Masonic Order. In religion he was an Anglican and held a munber of offices in connection with Christ Church, Meaford. The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon and will be under Masonic auspices. Rev. T.D. Painting will have charge of the service at Christ Church at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be made in Lakeview Cemetery.
