Hugh Fry Rites
Are Set Tuesday

Services for Hugh Alfred Fry, 54, former state commander of the American Legion, will be in, the chapel of the Hunter funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Park cemetery.

Fry, who lived on route 31, died Thursday of cancer in the Veterans hospital here; He was a special representative for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. here and was employed by the telephone company more than 30 years. An overseas veteran of World war I, Fry served as a captain in the 45th national guard division for 13 years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the Rotary club in Altus and was also a member of the 40 ct 8.

He was an elder in the Midwest City Presbyterian church and formerly was an elder in the Presbyterian church in Altus and the Southminster Presbyterian church here. He was a member of the 0klahoma Society for Crippled children for over 20 years and was a former district commissioner for Boy Scouts in Altus. In the 1930s he was awarded a plaque by the Altus chamber of Commerce for service to the community. In 1924 he was honored for heroism in the Badswitch school fire. The American Legion will conduct full military rites at the graveside.
