Thomas C. Pledger Jr., 88, passed away on December 11, 2010. Born June 19, 1922 to Thomas Cleveland and Maude Ethel (Gordon) Pledger , graduated from Central H.S. in OKC and attended East Central State College in Ada, OK. During WWII, he began work at Tinker Field, where he met and married Lilla Mae Porter. He joined the U.S. Navy and served until the end of the war. Returning to Civil Service at Tinker, he served 33 years. He served Midwest City as a councilman and was most proud of his participation in developing the "Little River" water supply for MWC. He was a member of First Baptist Church of MWC. In retirement, he worked at Rose State College and enjoyed traveling with his wife and going to the lake.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years; one son, Charles Pledger and wife Elsiann; and two daughters: Jan Shaw and husband Dick; Debbie Adams and husband Rick; eight grandchildren: Shawn Shaw, Kelly Couch, Richard Shaw, Julia Daugherty, Jennifer Pledger , Chloe Aduddell, Hope Adams, Molly Adams; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church of MWC, Tue., December 14, at 2 pm.
Burial Kolb Cemetery.
