Homer L. Smith, a pharmacist opened the first drug store in Owasso in approximately 1900.  Located where the telephone company building at Main and Broadway.

According the above picture the entrance faced west.  Mr. Smith is the gentleman standing in front of the door with light colored shirt and vest.  His future wife Alice Valendia Flournoy is sitting sidesaddle on the horse.

The other gentlemen are unknown, however they are farmers, ranchers and railroad workers passing the time of day.

Homer and Alice, like his parents, John and Sarah Smith lived in a house (still standing) at 113 N. Atlanta.  Homer Smith passed away in 1960 at 80 years of age.  Alice Smith passed away in 1979 at 94 years of age.
