Robert Clayton Carson, 74, 30 W. Marylynn, Sapulpa, died Sunday at Ranch Terrace Nursing Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Green Hills Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Rev. Glen Hood officiating with full military rites.

Interment is to follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Carson was born October 11, 1920 in Cedar Creek, Ark., to William R. and Mary E. Spencer Carson. He was married Nov. 2, 1962 in Carson City, Nev. To Jeanne Ruth Martin.

Carson was a retired carpenter who was self-employed, working out of Local Union No. 943. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a corporal.

H returned to Sapulpa in 1965 from Carson City, Nev., Although he was in and around Sapulpa since 1940. Carson was a member of the Midway Gospel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Carson, of the home; daughter Mary Elizabeth Turner of Pittsburgh, Calif.; stepdaughter, Wanda L. Jones of Reno, Nev.; stepson Cliff Honea of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brothers James Carson of Susanvill, Calif., and Ray Carson of Eureka, Calif.; sisters Eva Fanning of of Chester, Calif., Ora Lillian "Dolly" Warnoc of Redding, Calif. and Geraldine Pilcher of Reno, Nev.; one grandchild, four step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Honorary casketbearers will be Virgil Hutchins, Brett Huckaba, James Carson, Ray Carson and Cliff Honea.

Funeral services with full military rites for Robert Clayton Carson were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum under with the Rev. Glen Hood officiating.

Burial followed in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Honorary casketbearers were Virgil Hudgins, Brett Huckaba, James Carson, Ray Carson, and Cliff Honea.
