A team of horses owned by Dr. Wm. CRALL of Pioneer won first place in a pulling contest at the Indiana State Fair last week.
The Rev. Harry TROUTNER has been transferred by his church conference to a new charge at Attica, O., and will move there next week. He has had three United Brethren churches in this vicinity and goes to the two churches near Attica at an increase in salary.
DEATHS:
Inez LETT
Inez LETT, 28, Prattville, Mich., school teacher, suffered a broken neck and died at 6 pm Sunday in an accident three miles north of Fayette. She, with Mrs. Mary ASHBECK and daughter Juanita, the driver, were returning to Prattville after visiting at Bryan, their former home. As Miss ASHBECK passed a truck the car swerved and overturned, throwing Miss LETT out of the auto. Miss ASHBECK and her mother were injured and were taken to the Hudson, Mich. hospital.
Mrs. Thirca HITT
Mrs. Thirca HITT, 50, died at her home at 761 s. Harvey street Plymouth, Mich., Thursday, Sept. 4, following an illness of over a year. She suffered a stroke a week before her death. Mrs. HITT was born near Evansport and with her family had resided in Plymouth for fifteen years. Surviving besides her husband, Vern HITT, are the family, Mrs. Cordens FLANAGAN, Miss Irisdene, two sons, Vernell and Robert, two brothers, Wallace PARNHAM, Bryan and George of Jefferson township and four sisters, Mrs. Hazel PRIDGEON of Ft. Wayne, Mrs. Mattie CALVIN and Mrs. Alcie AMES, Hicksville, Mrs. Gertrude STONER near Pulaski. Funeral services were held at Plymouth Sunday. Other relatives besides those named and their families attending the funeral were Ernest HITT, Lenore HITT, Alberta PARNHAM, Mr. and Mrs. Leland WINZELER and family and Denver STONER.

Lawrence BAKER
Lawrence Raymond BAKER, 42, died Friday at his home, 427 North Cherry street, of endocarditis. He was born at Camden, Mich., and lived in this community nearly three years whilt employed as a wood drill operator at the Bryan Handle Co. Services were held Monday afternoon in the Memorial U. B. church with Rev. L. M. DAVIS officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Montpelier. He leaves his wife, Audrey; three children, fourstep-children, and one sister, Mrs. Viola BAUGHMAN of Grass Lake, Mich.
Cleve DALLY
Services were held Tuesday at Fremont, Ind., for Cleve DALLY, 85, who died at home there Saturday. The family lived two miles north of Bryan for many years. He leaves his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude SMYERS of Wabash, Ind. and Mrs. Viola GOULD of Fremont; Two sons, Leo of Mt. Vernon, Wash., and Sgt. Kenneth in the army; and one sister, Mrs. Weston HITT of Bryan.
John BUNTING
John BUNTING, 78, a retired farmer of Milford township, died Saturday morning in the home of his son, O. V. BUNTING, 313 South Cherry street. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Krill funeral home at Edgerton with Rev. Wm. L. HORST officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove cemetery at Edgerton.
William MEYERS
Services were held at the Grisier funeral home in Stryker Friday for William MEYERS, 76, who died at his home in Stryker. He had been ill several weeks, after a stroke. Rev. A. H. BECKETT officiated, and burial was at West Unity. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Nora DELCAMP, other relatives and friends.
Marjorie Lee KLINE
Rites were held in the Methodist church in Edon, Friday for Marjorie Lee KLINE, 14 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph KLINE. The girl died in the Garrett hospital after an appendicitis operation.
Pulaski Notes - Mrs. Carl BOSTATER, Correspondent
Mrs. Harry HESTER has been in Dayton for a few days with her sister.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer REPLOGLE are leaving for Detroit, Tuesday to see their son who is sick.
Arthur BEATTIE and son Kenneth and Miss Bernadine TEMPLE of Defiance, spent Sunday with his sister, Mrs. Bob HUGHES and son.
Miss Berince SCHRIEBER of Irvington, N.Y., spent Wednesday until Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Carl BOSTATER.
Pulaski Garden Club will meet, Mar. 6, with Mrs. Frank WILES.

Marcia Ann FRITZ
Marcia Ann FRITZ, five month old daughter of Pfc. and Mrs. John FRITZ, died Friday in the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs, Clarence HEISLER northwest of Farmer. The father never saw his daughter, having sailed for the occupation army in Germany five days after she was born Jan 14. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the HEISLER home, Rev. H. C. MEISTER of the Zion Lutheran church officiating, with burial in Farmer cemetery.
Mrs. Lottie DEAKINS
Mrs. Lottie DEAKINS, 81, died Monday in the WEBER rest home, 316West High. She had been an invalid several years. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Oberlin-Ford funeral home with Rev. C. A. STEWART of New Paris, Ind., officiating. Burial in Fountain Grove. She leaves a son, Frank STODDARD, of Toledo; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Kerry D. SPEELMAN
Rites were held Saturday foe Kerry Dean SPEELMAN, four months old son of Mr. and Mrs. George SPEELMAN, who passed away May 30 of pneumonia in their home in Pulaski township. Burial was at Scott, O.
Charles M. FREEMAN
Charles M. FREEMAN, aged nearly 91 years, died at his home in Bradenton, Fla., June 28. He was born in Akron, O., but spent his youth in Bryan where he learned Morse telegraphy in 1873. He was a retired trainmaster of the C. & O. R. R. His sister, Mrs. Jessie BRACE, resides at 323 South Main. Mr. BRACE knew by heart the early history of Bryan.
