FRANKLIN - Matt Green, 82, Franklin, died en route to Middletown Hospital
in an ambulance about 12:30 p.m. yesterday. Mr. Green is survived
by his wife, Ida; three daughters, Mrs. Opal Webb of Dayton and Mrs. Emogene
Kleather and Miss Anna Green, both of Franklin; four sons, Witt of Franklin,
Matt Jr., of Dayton, William of Richmond, Ky., and Bob of Franklin; three
sisters, Mrs. Julia Maupin of Berea, Ky., Mrs. Laura Wilson of Dayton
and Mrs. Flora Chasteen of Franklin.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday to the Robert Eaton Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Springboro
Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m.
today.
Mr. Green had moved to Franklin six years ago. Previously he owned
a farm near Duluth, Ky. and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Richmond,
Ky.

Mrs. N. A. Green
DIED—On Thursday the 12th inst., at Dayton, of cholera, Mrs. N. A. Green, relict of Wm. Green, dec., aged 68 years.

Peter A. Greene, son of Edward and Lydia Greene, deceased, was born
on a farm in Franklin township, Warren Co., O, on July 1st, 1845, departing
this life on Sep. 30, 1902. Aged fifty-seven years and three months.
He never married. He spent his boyhood at the place of his birth until
the breaking out of the Civil War when he answered his country's call,
enlisting in Co. A., 79th O.
V. I., being mustered into service on Aug. 23rd, 1862. He served until
the close of that great strife, being mustered out at Washington City
at the close of the great review of '65.
He was the youngest of five children, a brother, Joseph, preceding him,
leaving a brother and two loving sisters to mourn their loss.
Like every true soldier death's battle found him prepared, forgiving and
forgetting all of life's harsh sufferings, with nothing but hopes and
best wishes for those remaining, peacefully prepared to meet his God and
those dear ones gone before, with a last word "Mother.
