The Braden family were among the early settlers of old Itawamba County and when Lee county was formed many all ready were there. This picture was taken in the backyard of my Grandparents home in Belden on the Memphis hwy . They built the home and moved in about 1935 or so. The lot is next to the Lane funiture factory in the valley, next to it. It was originally an Indian Mound, cleared for this house. This picture was taken Mother's Day 1975. This picture was of her and her remaining 14 children. Mrs Braden was a daughter of Benjamin C. and Nancy Jane Ratliff Mitchell. Born in Ratliff on 13 Nov. 1883. Died 24 June 1975. She is buried in Belden Cemetery with her husband Henry Vester Braden and several of her children, and other relatives.
