married James Garrett Prewett 20 May 1916 in Shannon County. MO Death
Cert.#11020. Her husband Garrett filled out the death certificate. He
apparently didn't know her birthdate, it is listed as Feb. 21, 1899.
Date of death is shown as Feb. 27, 1920, and she died of influenza at
the age of 20 yrs., 10 mos., 17 days. Burial at Shawnee Cemetery on Feb.
27th.
Prewett, Jewel Apr. 9, 1918 - Feb. 18, 1920. 'Her Son.' MO Death Cert.#11021: Listed as Jewel Pruitt. Born Apr. 19, 1918,
died Feb. 26, 1920. The death certificate, which was filled out by his
father, Garrett Prewett, says he is the son of Garrett Pruitt and Hannah
Leek. He married Hannah Leek abt 1917. She must have died, because he
married Gracie 20 May 1916, and she died just 10 days after Jewel. The
death certificates are in numerical sequence as well. The inscription on
the double tombstone with Gracie is 'Her Son'. Burial was on Feb.
28th at Shawnee Cemetery. (Garrett married Bessie Unknown 08 Jul 1920
following Gracie's death in February).
