Orleans Parish-specific volunteers and their respective offerings are listed on the Parish Volunteers page (see navigation bar to the left.  All of the projects below are both offering and looking for volunteers.

• Orleans Parish Archives: transcriptions and scans of many old documents, records (bible, hospital, census...), maps, etc.
   
• USGenMap: US Genealogy Map Project: State, County, Territory Maps
   
• USGenWeb Digital Map Library
   
• Books We Own:  A Look-Up Resource for International Genealogical Research
   
• Immigrant Ships Transcriber's Guild: a project to transcribe ship manifests.  Currently about 5,000 manifests and growing.

• USGenWeb Tombstone Transcription Project (US & International)
   
• USGenWeb Census Transcription Projects (I have no idea why there are two of them...)

• USGenWeb Pension Project: war pensioner record transcriptions for wars prior to 1900
   
• USGenWeb Lineage Project: provides a place to list researchers who are looking for descendants of one
  particular ancestor who must have lived in the US at one time and must have been born before December 31, 1850.
   
• Genealogical Events project: Dedicated to help societies/groups have a successful event and give the researchers knowledge of where events are taking place.
