Leonard Noel Smither

Leonard Noel Smither, son of John W., was born April 17, 1824 in Peaks Mill, Franklin County, Kentucky.  He was living with his mother in
District 1 in Owen County on the 1850 census.  On April 1, 1852 in Owen County, Kentucky, Leonard married Kizziah Curry, born June 8, 1833,
 daughter of Elijah and Elizabeth Rogers Curry.  L. N. purchased land along the Cedar Creek from James W. White and the heirs of Robert S. White.
Kizziah died on January 7, 1894 in Owen County, Kentucky and was buried in the Smither Cemetery.  Leonard died some years later in Franklin
County on June 12, 1913.  He is buried along with Kizziah in the Smither Cemetery.

Owen Breckenridge Smither was born July 24, 1855 in Owen County, Kentucky and died March 26, 1948 in Franklin County, Kentucky
John W. Smither was born June 17, 1857 and died May 11, 1935 in Franklin County, Kentucky.  He married Emma White, who was
born on March 1, 1862 and died July 21, 1939.  They had a son, Herman, born November 14, 1881 and died April 12, 1966, Franklin
County, Kentucky. John W. Smither was listed on the 1910 census, Bloomington, Franklin County, Kentucky.
Grant C. Smither was born May 30, 1859 in Owen County, Kentucky and died December 10, 1939 in Franklin County.  He married first
Jennie O'Nan Pollett.  His married his second wife, Victoria Arnold on November 30, 1883.  She was the daughter of John Arnold and
Sophrona Marker.  Victoria was born on  March 3, 1865 in Spencer County, Kentucky and died May 30, 1906 in Franklin County. Victoria
and Grant has children;  Bulah married Sargent Calvert; Edith married Howard Cook; Elmer, born 1883, died 1956; Myrtle, born abt. 1885; 
Omah, born May 2, 1885, died November 30, 1971, married James L. Thompson; Leo Buckley, born April 13, 1894, died April 1859 in
Michigan; Thomas Grant, born July 28, 1890, died February 28, 1965; Alex C., born July 14, 1892, died January 30, 1966; William Goebel,
born April 10, 1899, died January 23, 1962, married Willie Mae Webster; Kelly, born April 27, 1901, died November 11, 1918.
Elizabeth Smither was born October 20, 1862 and died January 16, 1952 in Hesler, Owen County, Kentucky and buried in the Smither
Cemetery.  She married Louis Frederick True on January 18, 1879.  He was the son of George and Rebecca Branham True.  Louis was
born 1855 in Owen County and died there in 1937.  Elizabeth and Louis had children; Elvin, born January 11, 1880, died October 4, 1963;
Emmet O., born April 7, 1882, died December 16, 1948;  Grover C., born June 7, 1886, died November 11, 1904; Ester Noel, born
February 17, 1898, died March 27, 1969, married 1 - Vernon Traylor 2 ____ Caruthers, November 19, 1919; Earl born November 11, 1901,
died November 20, 1901 and buried in the Smither Cemetery.
A. C.. Smither was born June 1866 and died January 24, 1928 in California.  He was a minister and listed as
a brother to Grant C in the book "Old King William Families" VSL
Wade Hampton Smither was born June 12, 1869 and died April 13, 1905.  Buried in the Smither Cemetery
Winter S. Smither was born February 24, 1872 and died April 8, 1896.  Buried in the Smither Cemetery

Child of John W. and Emma White Smither
Herman Smither was born November 14, 1881 and died April 12, 1966 in Franklin County.  He married Lillie Mae O'Nan.  Lillie was born    
March 25, 1888 and died April 7, 1972.  In 1910 the were living in Elmville, Franklin County.  Herman and Lillie had children; Anita; Geneva;
Edna; and Cleora, born July 19, 1908, died February 19, 1989 Franklin County, Kentucky

Children of Grant C. & Victoria Arnold Smither
Elmer Smither was born 1883 and died 1956 in Franklin County.  He married Ollie Emma Wiley.  They had children; R. L., died December
1998 in Franklin County, married Mabel Austin; Elmer, Jr.; Kathryn married a Wise;  Dorothy married a Craig.
Myrtle Smither was born abt 1885.  She married Lewis T. Sullivan, son of James and Nancy Church Sullivan.  He was born March 15,
1875 in Franklin County and died May 4, 1967 and buried in the Frankfort Cemetery.  In 1910 they were living on his parent's home. Lewis
and Myrtle had children; Theodrick N. died July 12, 1994 and Jennie.   
Thomas Grant Smither was born July 28, 1890 in Franklin County and died February 28, 1965.  He married Clara M. Duvall on
November 12, 1921 in Shelby County.  She was born January 21, 1900 in Franklin County and died January 05, 1975 in Shelby. They
had daughter; Romayne, born July 26, 1922, Franklin County and died 1975 in Riverside, California.  She married 1 - John I. Hart and
2 - Arthur Tharaldson
Alex C. Smither was born July 14, 1892 in Franklin County and died January 30, 1966 in Franklin County.  He married first Emma Hume
Sargent.  She was born May 18, 1898 and died November 27, 1943. Alex and Emma had children; Alexander, born March 13, 1919 and
died April 27, 1979 in Franklin County; Frances, born November 6, 1923 and died August 14, 1995 married John Ben Hockensmith; Lucy
Jane, married 1 - __ Rogers 2 - __ Thomas; Zachariah Lewis, born May 24, 1928, died June 2000; Urban Valentine, born April 1, 1930,
died December 15, 1987; Robert Sargent, born August 6, 1932, died February 2004.   After 1940 Alex married second to Eva Mae
Shackelford. She was born May 14, 1904 and died February 7, 1978 in Franklin County, Kentucky.  Alex and Eva had no children.   Alex,
Emma and Eva are all buried in the Frankfort Cemetery.  
Leo Buckley Smither was born April 13, 1894 and died April 1959 in Michigan.  He married Katherine M. Schenden.  She was born on
December 16, 1992 in Michigan and died January 12, 1980.  They have children;  James L., Joyce, and Thomas E.

Children of Elizabeth Smither and Louis F. True
Elvin True was born January 11, 1880 and died October 4, 1963.  He married 1 - Frances Gregory and 2 - Mamye Haydon, daughter of    
Jarvis and Lucy Hill Haydon.  Elvin and Frances had children; Noel Gregory, born July 22, 1930, died August 10, 1982 and Chester, born
June 25, 1933 married Louise __?. Elvin and Mamye had children; Nellie Hill, born January 13, 1903, died January 7, 1906; Jessie May,
born November 16, 1905; Edna Lucille, born February 7, 1908, died August 1, 1980.                                                                              
Emmet O. True was born April 7, 1882 died December 16, 1948.  He married 1 - Emma Smither, January 17, 1906, daughter of James
and Winifred Jackson Smither. They had children; Otis Lee, born November 23, 1907; Willard Raymond, born March 13, 1909 and
Robert Haskell, born June 24, 1916.
