Although one person gave me his name as William Thomas Carpenter, another descendant has his name as William Palistine Carpenter. His tombstone definitely has the middle initial "P".

William Palestine CARPENTER and Ala Belinda "Allie" STEPHENS were married on 28 December 1862 in Jackson County, Kentucky. Ala Belinda "Allie" STEPHENS³⁵ was born on 5 August 1846 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. She died in 1907 at the age of 61 in Cass, Franklin County, Arkansas.

Parents were Solomon Stephens and Margaret Seabourn. Another desendant has her name as Ala Martha. Her marriage bond has Aley Stephens.
