101. Elijah G. GABBARD was born on 14 March 1818 in Clay County, Kentucky.⁴⁹ He died on 6 October 1900 at the age of 82 in Cass, Franklin County, Arkansas.

Elijah married Sarah Stevens, bond dated 23 Dec 1836, Madison Co KY. Edward Gabbard was bondsman and also gave consent although he did not specify that he was the father of the groom. David Stevens, father of the bride, gave consent. Minister's return dated 28 Dec 1836.

Elijah is said to have been a red-headed preacher who stammered when he spoke, but never when he preached.

Buried Cass Cemetery, Cass, Franklin Co, AR. He has a military marker - Co E, 47th KY Inf - for Civil War service. His death date is said to have come from the records of the headstones of deceased Union Veterans.

Elijah G. GABBARD and Sarah STEPHENS were married on 28 December 1836 in Madison County, Kentucky.^3,48,49 Sarah STEPHENS, daughter of David STEPHENS and Nancy , was born in 1816 in Kentucky.⁴⁹ She died in 1899 at the age of 83 in Arkansas.⁸
