DR. JOHN H. STEWART was born on the 6th of August, 1846, on section 35, township 15, range 13, Scott county, Illinois. At an early age he attended school at Jacksonville several years, returned home, and at the age of nineteen he began the study of medicine in his father's office, In 1867 he attended Rush Medical College, where he graduated in 1870. The Dr. on his return home located in Bethel, Morgan county, Illinois. He finally settled in Exeter, where he now resides. A view of his residence appears elsewhere in the map. He was married on the 25th of August, 1868, to Miss KATE T. REID, of Suffield, Connecticut. They have had one child, who died in infancy. The Dr. is one of the rising young men of Scott county, and now enjoys a very large practice. He has one of the finest libraries in the county.
