We are looking to expand the information we currently have and need your help. If you possess any Hinckley related pictures (family, homes, businesses, farms), news articles, or items that you would be willing to share, call Dolores Bastian at 815-286-7270. We would like to enhance the information we have on early life in Hinckley and we are sure there are family members and friends who have a treasure of family information, memories, and stories that would enhance our resources.

HHS Receives Two Grants

The Historical Society has recently received two grants. The first from the Roberts Family Foundation for $1,000, which is being used for an all-in-one 11" x 17" scanner, copier and printer; a dehumidifier; button machine and archival boxes. The second grant for $1,790 is from the DeKalb County Community Foundation. These funds will be used to protect the museum from UV light rays from both our fluorescent overhead lights and through the windows and for other preservation articles i.e. archival binders, archival boxes, special garment cleaning, etc. Congratulations to Dolores Bastian, Hinckley Historical Society Museum Curator, who wrote both grants.
