He was curatus at "Beffo" or Belfoz (Belfaux, in the Canton of Fribourg) at some point in the late 14th Century, according to the testament of his brother Perrodus (07 mar 1399 Style of the Annunciation). He may be the Dominus Hugo who was curatus there in 1354 (Dellion, Dictionnaire historique et statistique des paroisses catholiques du Canton de Fribourg, vol. 2, p. 51). What little is known of him comes from the testament of Perrodus Mayor: By the end of 1399, Hugo had already died, he had left a bequest to the Fr�res Mineurs (Franciscans) of Fribourg, which had still not entirely been paid, and so Perrodus made a provision for that purpose in his own testament. From this we can deduce that Hugo must have made a testament, and an extract or copy of that testament would have been made for the use of the Franciscan monastery. The library of this monastery is said to be well preserved, with at least 80 volumes of medieval manuscripts that have not been catalogued. The testament of Perrodus also notes an obligation to the church at Belvaux, which his heirs are required to pay — presumably this obligation traces back to the testament of Hugo as well, as there is no other known connection of the Mayor family of Cugy with Belfaux, although Dellion notes that the church of Belfaux was destroyed by fire at least once in the 15th Century, and he was unable to cite more information about the curates in the second half of the 14th Century, suggesting that early documents may no longer exist. However, there is still a possibility that Hugo's testament was recorded by a notary whose records have been preserved at the AEF or in some other archive, such as that of the city of Estavayer-le-Lac.

According to the genealogy of the Mayor de Cugy family prepared by Hubert de Vevey, BCU Fribourg, ms. L 1935/6, citing AEF Obituaire de Cugy, Nicod was curatus de Cugy in 1385, and his death was commemorated at the church of Cugy on 12 Kalendes Aprilis, or March 20. The obituaire also recorded that the death of Perrod, father of this Nicod, was commemorated on 6 Idus Marcii, or March 10. However, there were two Perrods in the early 14th Century, cousins, and it is not clear in the available sources which one of them was the father of the curatus Nicodus. Realizing that Bonet was often transcribed as Bovet, we spotted another citation from apparently the same obituaire: D. Jacques Boveti, Buveti, or Bovet was curatus at Cugy in 1349, and, apparently, until 1385, and died in 1401, his anniversary mass celebrated on August 15. Here we are confronted by the problem of the ambiguous script : Was the "Bovet" at Cugy from the same family as the "Bonet" at Corcelles and Payerne ?
ACV Fm 3 quater, fols. 16 ff, contain significant information about Nycodus and his relatives. He was an illegitimate son of Perrodus Mayor de Cugie. He made his testament 17 jul 1427 (notary Petrus de Trevaulx), naming as his universal heir his illegitimate son Petrus. His father, too, made a testament (die Dominica Bordarum 1399), mentioning Margareta his daughter, his illegitimate son Nycodus, and his wife Mermeta. He also mentions Agneta, daughter of his (likely late) son Girardus. Perrodus also had a brother Hugo, who had already died, but who had been been curatus of Belfoz (Beffo).
Other records show that his illegitimate son Petrus was the notary Petrus Mayor, active in the first half of the 15th Century and deceased by 1465 leaving his widow Ysabella Mongner, but Petrus also left a testament of 02 feb 1451 Style of the Annunciation mentioning his deceased (first ?) wife Perrussete and three daughters.

Perrodus made his will at Payerne (Perrodus dictus Mayor de Cugie morans apud Paterniacum), dated die Dominica Bordarum 1399 (no doubt Style of the Annunciation). The obituarius at the church of Cugy places his anniversary mass on March 10, which we suppose therefore was 10 mar 1399 Style of the Annunciation — if we have navigated the possible calendars correctly, Easter 1400 fell on April 18, 1400, and Dominica Bordarum would therefore be 42 days prior, or 07 mar 1399 Style of the Annunciation. He mentions several relatives: brother Hugo, deceased, who had been the curatus at Belfoz; wife Mermeta, but it is not yet known whether she was the mother of his legitimate children; illegitimate son Nycodus, who had been the curatus at Cugy in 1385 and whose testament is dated in 1427; legitimate daughter Margareta wife of Nycodus Bonet burgensis Paterniaci; and Agneta, daughter of Girardus, the (deceased ?) son of the said Perrodus.

Son Jean Fran�ois Mazeirac of Geneva left descendants. Jean himself is named in notarial records of Geneva but has not been positively identified in records of Ard�che. The surname is numerous in the area around Vernoux. Jean was the son of Fran�ois, according to information in the baptismal record for Jean Fran�ois Mazeirac. Age at death indicated as about 40 years.
From the birth dates of the children, it appears that Jean Fran�ois must have had two wives. We have not yet discovered the name of the first wife. Habitant at Geneva 03 feb 1730.
