The total number of casualties in the Canadian forces reported up to October 16th is 677 officers and 14,510 men. Of these 127 officers and 2,489 men have been killed or died by illness or accident; 58 officers and 1,251 men are prisoners of War and 37 officers and 1110 men are missing. The rest are "wounded and ill."
