Family of Zacheus Burt and Mary Ann Billingsley

Zacheus Burt, son of John Burt who died in Autauga County, Alabama in 1827, was born about 1806 in Georgia. He was married, probably about 1827 in Autauga County, to Mary Ann Billingsley. Mary Ann Billingsley, the daughter of Clement Billingsley [1], was born about 1810 in Virginia.

The Zacheus Burt household was enumerated in the 1830 census of Autauga County (p. 127) as follows:

Z. Burt 1m 5-10, 1m 15-20, 1m 20-30, 1f < 5, 1f 20-30

The family is not found in the 1840 census of Autauga County, Alabama, and appears to have moved from Alabama to Lowndes County, Mississippi between 1840 and 1847. The 1850 census of Lowndes County, Mississippi [2] recorded Zacheus and Ann Burt and their children living next to the household of his brother Dr. William Burt:

On 1 July 1859, Zacheus Burt recieved a land patent for 40 acres in Section 15 Township 17S Range 17W in Union County, Arkansas [3].

He served as a justice of the peace in Union County, Arkansas, as "Z. Burt, J. P." officiated at the marriage of Mary Eliza Burt and James Primm [4].
