Nancy first showed up in the 1850 Lawrence Co. census living with Mary ROBERSON. Nancy had her three children with her then: William, Sarah, and Mary. All three children are listed as being born in AL. By the 1860 Lawrence Co. census, she is head of her own household with children William, Mary, John, Jasper, Joe, and a Sarah SCOGINS is living with her. This was her daughter Sarah who had obviously left, married, and returned (in later census years, Sarah is listed as widowed). In the 1870 Lawrence Co. census Nancy is living with children Jasper, Joseph, and Francis. I believe Francis is her granddaughter through Sarah Scogins. Sarah is living in the John W. and Mary REEVES household. This Mary was Nancy's sister. Mary was born in TN Oct. 1815. Nancy was buried on the family land in Courtland with no gravestone visible now.

Had daughters Mary Delitha and Arcena Allen in 1872 and 1874 respectively and an infant son William. His family is well known other than the infant son, his daughters having been reared by his parents John and Malinda, their mother having been too ill for their care. I seek later information, at least of his death and place of burial. And the full name for the initial R. would be much appreciated. If circumstances of his later life and death are known and provided me such would be near perfect.

Byrd My great great grandfather (Abe Edell BYRD) came from a state around Alabama. He migrated to Texas as far as i can tell around 1915 - 30. He was born around 1900 and died i believe in 1978. On his way to Texas he visited a Indian Reservation around Louisiana and found an Indian woman that he married, and i'm not sure of the date of the mariage, but her name was Susan QUINN. Her father was half indian and half white, and her mother was full indian, but what tribe we're not sure. They had a total of 9 children, all born in Texas which is not my interest because i know all of their names and stories. I am only worried about Abe and Susan, and back even further into the family tree. It's believed because of his character that he had to flee his home because of a crime he comitted, but then again no one is certain. But, it is also wondered why he would never tell anyone exactly where he came from. So that only adds to the thought that he was forced to flee.
I'm trying to figure out where he came from and anything else that i could find. Like his parent's names, and his possible reason for leaving home. Now, it has crossed my mind that he could've changed his name without any notice, but i am almost certain that the last name was not tampered with.

Colbert My 3rd grgrandfather was William David COLBERT Sr. I've ran into the following...1 of his granddaughters put into her application in 1906 that her grandfather's father was George Colbert.
