Taylor Brickle TAYLOR. Born probably about 1809-1810. Birthdate is a guess based on the first year he paid taxes in Maury County,
Tennessee. He may be a son of Dempsey Taylor (1773-1858) or Bryant Taylor (1781-aft 1850). On 16 Jun 1832 in Maury County, Tennessee, he married Susan B. Fonville, daughter of Jeremiah Fonville and Mary Johnston. According to Maury County, Tennessee court records, he was in Lawrence County, Alabama on 1 Feb 1834. Looking for anything on this couple.

Thrasher George Thomas THRASHER has been an elusive ancestor although he is only a couple of generations back. He was the oldest child of George Lewis and Dora Isabell (NORTON) THRASHER. They married in 1887 in Lawrence County, but I have been unable to locate them in the 1900 census. They are in the 1910 census where George Thomas THRASHER is in the household of James T. LOOSIER as a hired man. His age is given as 22 making him born about 1888 in AL. Family stories say he "died young" before marrying. He is buried beside his mother at Forest Chapel Cemetery in Morgan County, AL. His marker has been broken and no inscription remains. He died after April 19, 1910 when the census was taken and before May 10, 1939 when his mother died as he is not listed as surviving her. I have been unable to find him in the Alabama death index or any local records in Lawrence County. I want to replace his cemetery marker, but want to have his birth and death dates before doing so. Any assistance or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/t/h/r/David-L-Thrasher/index.html?Welcome=1051716130

AL ca. 1875 to Thomas Haze BURNS, b. 1/3/1855 AL, d. 10/27/ 1888, in TN. They had Ella, Walter, Anna, 1878, Fannie Etta, 1/1879, Mae, 7/1884, Laura, 11/1886 Thomas, 4/1888. Wiginton Researching the surname WIGINTON in Marion Co.
Wilson Abraham/Abram WILSON was my 3rd great gfather and I do not know who his parents or siblings were or where they were from. I don't know if Abraham/Abram was his first name or middle name. Abe m. Sarah Jane NESMITH of Morgan Co, AL in Oct of 1870. He is first found on the 1870 Morgan Co AL census and shown as being 18 yrs old, born GA. Living next door to Abe is a Sarah CROSBY, 21 yrs old and born in GA. I have a copy of a letter written by an H. H. or H. W. Crosby and S. E. Crosby that was sent to the Lawrence Co Probate Judge granting permission for Abe's marriage. This S. E. Crosby may possibly be the above Sarah Crosby; she is later found on the 1880 Chattooga Co, GA census. Could she have possibly been his sister? I'm guessing that Abe's parents were either dead or living too far away to give permission; or could he have been orphaned? A researcher told me that the Orphan Court Records for Lawrence Co were destroyed or missing. Are there other court records in Lawrence County that might provide a clue? Abe just up and disappeared in the Spring of 1874, just before the birth of his only child, and his family never heard from him again. Did he start a new life and a new family someplace else? His only child, my grandfather William Martin WILSON, never knew his father so info on Abe's parents or siblings was never passed down to the family. Until I identify his parents and/or siblings, I can't trace my Wilson family any further back than 1870 AL.
Wilson I am beginning research on the WILSON'S of Limestone Co., Al. 1900 Al. census lists James Wilson, m. to Sarah Elizabeth DAVIS, with sons' Robert, Bertie, Basil, and Blair. Back tracking, I'm having trouble locating James father and what his name was. Also , can't find records relating this info, as SSDI, burial, birth, etc. James was born in 1855. Bertie in 1890. Need info and have some descendent info to share in line of James Bert (Bertie). Some info on James Bert's wife, Lennie LEWTER, also available.
Winn Josephine E. WINN, born November 11, 1856 and died June 5, 1933. She is buried in Walker Co., Alabama. She married James Harvey COVIN, but I know little else about her except she had size 4 feet!. I would appreciate any information.
Winsett We are looking for a Walter WINSETT who was wed at one time to Martha Jane CLEMMONS; Walter was the name that was the father of my maternal grandmother. My mother and my aunts told us tht their father ran off and left his family from Alabama and went west and started another family there. My Gandmother was Hattie Mae Louella Audrey (WINSETT) HIGDON-ALEXANDER.
We know that Hattie had sister named Anna (mother called her as Aunt Annar). Another was Elizabeth (WINSETT) a/k/a (Betty) ; she wed George HIGDON who was a brother to my maternal Grandfather Simn Joe Sar HIGDON. In 1900 census of Athens, Limestone County, Alabama Hattie is liseted with her mother and a brother Jesse WINSETT.
Wooddell Wiley A. WOODDELL. Born Dec 14, 1809 in either GA or TN died May 31, 1876 in Tuscaloosa Co AL. His first marriage was to Barbara Tabitha WEAVER on Feb. 26, 1839 in Tuscaloosa Co AL the daughter of Jesse Weaver & Rebecca SANFORD. She was born in 1827 in Tuscaloosa Co AL & died 1864 in Tuscaloosa Co AL. His second marriage was to Sarah Magdalene RAY abt 1865 the daughter of Bartlett Ray and Harriet HENDRICKS. She was born June 30, 1820 and died Oct. 10, 1891.
More info on his decsendants can be found at http://www.tx-wooddell.net/family/wooddell/wgen1.htm . Last name is spelled Wooddell, Woodell, Woodel, Woodill, Wooddill, Woodall, Woodiel by various clerks and census takers. There were "contemporaries" with the name spelled as I do now, in Lauderdale Co, (James S, WOODDELL), Morgan Co., Joseph WOODDELL, Jefferson Co., John WOODDELL, and another John WOODDELL in Greene Co., AL. Joseph and the 2 Johns were of similar age, while James was born 1825 in AL. Somewhere is a common ancestor, but as of yet, I can't tie these to Wiley.
Woody I am trying to find out more about the WOODY family who lived in Florence, Lauderdale Co., Al. Clifford W. WOODY, marr. Lottie June BARNES b. 11 Feb 1855 in Cleveland, OH. They were marr. 11 Oct 1876 in Clyde, Cloud Co., Ks. Had a daughter Florence Gwendolyn WOODY B. 25 Dec 1890 in Florence, Lauderdale Co., AL Florence marr. Louis/Lewis A. BROOKS 11 Dec 1909 in Lawrence, Douglas Co., KS. Hopefully someone out there is familiar with this family.
